  I'm a social media consultant and writer. I've done social media consulting with a number of clients, including Modern Bird Studios, InsuranceQuotes.com, Eden Fantasys, Jane, You Ignorant Slut and more. For my social media clients I've done everything from set up sites, devised launch strategies, created, recruited, and overseen special projects with bloggers in national campaigns, and helped folks navigate the tricky world of mom bloggers. I also create accessible, friendly, and grammatically correct SEO copy for companies ranging from educational sites to construction companies to the mortgage industry. This year I'll be speaking at the Mom 2.0 Summit, the 4th National Conference of Women, Addiction and Recovery among others. I love speaking, and am always open to requests to speak.

I'm primarily known for my personal blog Uppercase Woman. Started in March of 2004, my blog has evolved from a personal journal about struggling with infertility to a "mommy" blog that delves not only into parenting but politics (with a definite left wing bias), spirituality, body image issues, and much more. Pretty much I write about whatever is kicking around in my head, and I swear, far more than the average person.

For over fourteen years I've been working in public relations and marketing, creating everything from press releases to brochures to SEO web content. In the last three years I've also done Social Media consulting, helping to create the perfect pitches to bloggers from all corners of the Internet. EXPERIENCE 

Writer & Social Media Consultant
June 2002 to present

Create results-oriented sales and marketing copy for both print and digital media, marketing packages, and web content for various organizations. In 2006, incorporated SEO techniques into web content. Became full-time freelance in May 2007. Additionally, since 2004, have authored a personal blog that currently receives over 100,000 hits per month and use this experience to work as social media consultant, particularly in crafting pitches to bloggers in the Momosphere.

Marketing Director
The Art Shop at Moore College of Art & Design
September 2002 to May 2007

Opened a new retail art gallery that exclusively sold student and alumnae artwork. Store considered a major marketing and public relations tool to help increase awareness of the College and maintain relationships with alumnae artists. Created a marketing campaign to target multiple audiences, including the public and alumnae. Built from the ground up an online presence, including online sales capacity and large online database of available artwork for sale by alumnae that was offsite. Worked with college’s communications department to generate press and advertising, and managed annual advertising budget. Worked closely with college president to facilitate relationships between the Shop and high level donors and college supporters. Consulted on physical appearance of shop and merchandise, and helped staff and student workers coordinate and maintain relationships with artists.

April 1999 to August 2002

Completely revamped public relations policies and organization branding. Increased press coverage by 65%. Created public events that made organization a destination. Managed volunteers. Coordinated marketing and PR for fundraising ventures, including a capital campaign. Created all print materials, including design and website. Overall increased visitors to organization by 50% and fundraising by 30% with successful marketing campaigns and events.
