I am a contributer and content editor over at Aiming Low.
Who am I? First, I'm a writer. I'm a speaker. I'm a content editor. I'm a social media strategist and consultant. I'm also flip, funny, completely irreverent, and I swear enough that I make some folks blush. I'm a mom to a four-year-old daughter, wife to an amazing man, and am the proud owner of a pit bull mix and a really, really old cat. I go to church most Sundays even though I'm not so sure about Jesus. I have pink hair and a lot of tattoos. I'm fat and I no longer apologize for it. I'm ridiculously liberal. I've been sober for well over 14 years.
I'm best known for my personal blog Uppercase Woman. Started in March of 2004, my blog has evolved from a personal journal about struggling with infertility to a "mommy" blog that delves not only into parenting but politics, spirituality, body image issues, and much more. I'm also now known for my large Twitter following and appearance on the "Twitter Recommends" Family List.
I will consider doing reviews or giveaways at CecilyK.com, but not on Uppercase Woman. I do sell ads on my blogs directly; you can view my ad rates here. My blog receives around 3,000 page views a day, and I have an additional 3,000 subscribers (I publish full feeds).
I've spoken all over the country. At the Social Media Club of Philadelphia, the Type-A Mom Conference 2009, BabyBites Manhattan, MomSpace, and Drexel University. This year I'll be speaking at the Mom 2.0 Summit 2010, the 4th National Conference of Women, Addiction and Recovery, BlogHer 10, and the Type-A Mom Conference 2010, and in Grenoble, France for the Working Woman's Network. I love speaking, and am always open to requests to speak. I've also done several appearances at corporate events, including the Hebrew National Better-Than-A-Picnic launch event in NYC.
I've done social media consulting with a wide variety of clients. A few of my recent clients are Diva International, Modern Bird Studio, Eden Fantasys, and author Rachel Simon. For my social media clients I've done everything from devising launch strategies to creating, recruiting, and overseeing special projects with bloggers in national campaigns. I've also helped individuals establish their social media presence and set up their various social media accounts. Additionally, I conduct Social Media 101 and Momosphere 101 workshops for companies and helped folks navigate the tricky world of mom bloggers. In addition, I also do extensive individual training (in person and via skype and telephone) in basic social media skills, helping individuals find the best tools to market their company, books, and websites.
